Illustrative view of new school facilities
Our proposals for the redevelopment of Phoenix Academy include the delivery of:
Enhanced flexible teaching spaces, including a four-storey teaching block with 26 classrooms, among them new, dedicated science and music classrooms, to further improve the learning experience.
New common areas including a new sixth form common room, library, and dining hall.
307 much-needed new homes for the borough, of which we are targeting 90 (37% by habitable room) to be affordable rental homes. This will include a mix of two-bed, three-bed and four-bed homes, making these suitable for families.
A new modern 3 court sports hall with new changing facilities, useable by pupils and the wider community with the flexibility to support a range of new activities and uses.
New and improved outdoor spaces to support pupil learning and social interaction, including a new roof terrace, student plaza, and exploration courtyard.
A landscape and ecology design that preserves the ecological value of the site through the design of a living street.
